This is NOT a Singing Allsorts events but Jane and Lindy are organising a Community Concert as part of the Cuckfield Commemoration 'Light of Hope' to mark the 100 years since the end of World War 1.
We intend to involve many parts of the community in however many ways that we can.
We are singing at the HT Tree Festival on the Saturday 9th December at 11.30am, the opening slot for the Saturday.
Please note all singers: We have access in to the church at 11am to have a quick warm up, please be prompt. Sadly due to to circumstances we only have a 30 minute slot this year.
Dress code: Black day wear with SA scarves. Folders allowed.
Singing Allsorts and Cuckoo Choir will help lead the festive sing-a-long post lunch at about 2.30pm. The SA Community Song Books will be provided and Father Michael Maine will be accompanying us on the keyboard.
Please gather on the upstairs landing as the waitresses will be still busy, in and out of the hall. We will start the sing-a-long after the Holy Trinity primary school have sung.
Please wear anything festive.
The Singing Allsorts take part in the Independent State of Cuckfield Mayoral Procession each year. Wait to see how we turn out this year - our Land-rover and trailer dutifully decorated in something related to singing and maybe an event this year, or an anniversary.....??

Singing Allsorts will be holding their annual summer concert this year on Thursday the 6th July in the Holy Trinity Church, Cuckfield.
There will be a bar and a raffle to help raise funds for the two charities we choose this year.
This is a special year for the choir as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary in October. We have raised £9,780 for charities through our concerts so look forward to boosting that amount again this summer. Much of our repertoire for this concert will be favourites from the last ten years.

Ensemble Reza's Community Orchestra are holding a weekend of music in the Orchards Shopping Centre, Haywards Heath. Singing Allsorts will perform at this event on the Sunday morning.

The Singing Allsorts will be inviting friends and family to an informal Christmas Concert for in the Baptist Church, Polestub Lane, Cuckfield. This will give us the opportunity to sing the secular and Christmas rep we have worked on this term, along with a few solo's and festive readings.
Tea's and Coffee's with cake and biscuits will be served in the interval.

We have been asked if we would lead some community singing with the Cuckfield Ladies British Legion at their Christmas get-together. We will probably sing a couple of our own numbers and use our Community Song Books for everyone to join in with.

Singing our Christmas and secular rep in Holy Trinity Church as part of the annual Christmas Tree Festival. We are reminded that this is background music to those visiting the tree's.

We have been invited to go to Holmstead Manor, just north of Cuckfield to take part and lead their communal singing of Christmas Carols. Lucy Burrows, one of our Second Sop's lives and works at Holmstead - it is a YWAM (Youth With A Misson) Christian Ministry.

Members of the Singing Allsorts and the Cuckoo Choir are asked to come along at 2.30pm to take part and boost the post-lunch community singing. Always great fun and gets us in the mood for a festive December.

For the last few years, the Singing Allsorts have taken part in the ISOC Mayoral Procession with a float. We come up with an theme and dress up a trailer and ourselves, we decide on a few well known songs to tie in with our theme and have backing tracks on board for us to sing a long to. It is great fun and good team-work.
This year, Den Jordan (Alto TeamSA rep) will head up the organisation of the float. Please let her know if you can help out and take part.

There will be a donation bar open from 7pm and during the interval, plus a hamper raffle - all profits will be divided between our two chosen charities.
We have booked Alexander l'Estrange (www.alexanderlestrange.com) to come to Cuckfield and hold an evening singing and vocal workshop. Alexander l'Estrange is a choral composer and holds excellent and exciting vocal workshops.
A very low key affair this year. We will meet for a drink and chat at the Talbot Pub in Cuckfield but will have the keyboard on hand and the Christmas Song books and maybe a number or two from our Christmas rep. Not a performance, more a sing-a-long if the mood takes us. You are welcome to ask friends or family but we are not advertising this as a performance.
When SA members arrive we ask that they gather on the upstairs landing between 2.30pm and 2.45pm. We will then all go in to the hall and lead the community singing. It is great if everyone can place themselves all around the hall and help those at the lunch to find the songs in our Community Song Books.
Cuckoo Choir will also be joining us.

The Talbot are holding a charity boutique evening and have asked if some of us would like to sing a few carols to make the evening go with a swing.
We will sing from 7.30pm for about 30 mins, take a short break and then a shorter second set. We will use of Community Song Books which will be provided. It is unclear yet where we will be singing, depending on the space upstairs.
Please wear all black and SA scarves - plus any Christmas accessories.
Event being held in aid of Safe Haven For Donkey's at the Copthorne Effingham Park Hotel. The Singing Allsorts will sing carols and Christmas songs from 12-12.45pm and from 2-2.45pm.

The Singing Allsorts and friends are holding their annual charity concert at Holy Trinity Church, Cuckfield. This year we are supporting two charities - Brain Injury Unit at Kerwin Court in Horsham and the Alzheimer's Research UK. There will be a donation bar and a raffle to raise funds for both these great causes. Tickets are available at £8.00 (children tickets £1.00) from both of Cuckfield Post Office's in the High Street and Wealden Stores, Whiteman's Green. If any tickets are unsold they will be available on the door but for £10.00.
